Flipnote Hatena recently published an announcement that said that on May 31, 2013, Hatena will close. Forever. After everyone worked hard to build a wonderful community for 5 years, I guess Nintendo somehow decided it was for the better...
Because the DSi's Flipnote Studio is being replaced by the 3DS' Flipnote 3D. (I understand this is exciting for you, though, Krysten. I still think Flipnote 3D would be a cool addition to what we have now.)

What do you think? Is it really fair to destroy some people's only way of showing off their work? A lot of people say that Hatena is where they got inspired to do artwork. And even more of them say that they can't afford the 3DS or their parents won't let them have one. PLUS, on top of all this, the new Hatena for Flipnote 3D has a monthly fee to post your animations. Unless you're a popular creator (like Fleesveon or Epic). How the heck is that supposed to work?!

PLUS, it's impossible to transfer your account and Flipnotes to your new Hatena (well, I can transfer my Flipnotes because of my SD card). And my guess is you're gonna have to go through the registration process ALL OVER AGAIN (and it's not just a 'Name, Username, Password, Repeat Password, Email:' You have to do all of that and then have Hatena send you a permission form for you to print out, have your parents sign, and then email back. I tried doing this for a month and I finally got an account. Anyway, my beef isn't with the signup system.)!

Please give me feedback. Is this REALLY right?

Hi everyone! I really want to say sorry for not being very active lately and that part of the reason is that I'm stuck in an idea rut. The good news is that I am now taking open suggestions for pieces you'd like to see me make! I'm totally open to anything I have the supplies and time for, so don't hesitate to suggest!
On my other computer (which has my Cintiq) I have discovered a program that is even more powerful than Photoshop: Painter 12. I got it for Christmas and didn't try it out until lately because I didn't realize its potential as a great program. I would definitely recommend Corel Painter 12 for anyone who feels like they need something a little more than Photoshop. ;)

Anyway, back on topic, here are some suggestions that I probably cannot manage (or at least at home):
  • paper mache
  • oil paints
  • whittling (I've only made one thing that way: a bamboo flute that kind of played)
  • quilting or sewing (I will have to teach myself first!)
  • crocheting or knitting (ditto)
Notice there are a few things that I did not list: photography, clay work, watercolors, etc. These are things I can do (plus my regular digital/paper work). So feel free to suggest and I am really sorry if Weebly decides to eat my last few lines (when you type too much it deletes some usually). Bye and I look forward to reading your suggestions!

For those of you who don't know, Flipnote Studio is a free animation application that comes with the Nintendo DSi. (It may also be available for the 3DS... I hope!) It allows you to create animations that you can add sound to. Whether you're dedicated to making perfectly precise Flipnotes or if you just like to mess around with the basic tools to see what you can make, Flipnote Studio can definitely keep you occupied when you need something to do.
Plus, Flipnote Hatena is a site where you can sign up to post your Flipnotes for the world to see! :) My Flipnotes are almost to the point where I'll be proud to post them! So look out soon, because a new creator is crashing Flipnote Hatena! My name will appear as either DRAGONITE or Dragonite23.
Still working on the perfect lipsync for my characters, and I'm just learning with the Advanced Tools (sigh... Why didn't I figure them out sooner?...). Was I the only one getting frustrated trying to find the Advanced Tools? Cuz it took me a REALLY LONG time to find them (in Settings).
Anyway, if you have a Flipnote Hatena account, tell me your code and I will favorite you and give stars! Sorry if this post is long, but my fingers were ready to type, so I just typed eveything I could think of about Flipnote Studio... :)
Also: My favorite creators on Hatena are McBoo and Epic. (Epic is actually two people: Epic and Guitar.) Epic has been my animation hero ever since I figured out how to use Hatena. He must have used up a couple of SD cards posting as many Flipnotes as he does! McBoo's Flipnotes are funny, but I especially like his recent Christmas Flipnote. "You know what I want for Christmas this year, Santa? I want you to STOP. EATING. MY. COOKIES!!" -Quote from McBoo's Christmas Flipnote

I hope that this makes up for all of the time that I didn't
